Power Plant is a unique and sociable networking event in Vancouver for a dynamic crowd of sustainable business leaders, social entrepreneurs, eco-adventurers, green artists and media activists.

Power Plant offers an innovative and casual approach to networking with the aim of celebrating success, sharing ideas and knowledge, creating strategic partnerships and gathering to promote the growth of Vancouver’s green economy – while enjoying a bevy or two!

The event features quick presentations from green community leaders. Presenters have exactly 10 PowerPoint slides displayed for 20 seconds each - that's only 3 minutes and 20 seconds - to reveal their engaging story in a nutshell. This could be anything from sharing about their company and acknowledging achievements to launching a new program and raising interest for partnerships. This presentation style is a trimmed down version of the popular TED Talks or Pecha Kucha presentations.

Power Plant Connectors help introduce guests and make purposeful connections (perfect for wallflowers). On top of that event greening solutions are included to reduce Power Plant’s environmental footprint.

Power Plant is produced by LimeLight Event Marketing in a hip, green location in Vancouver.

Sustainability leaders rubbed shoulders at Power Plant IX

Over 70 guests rubbed shoulders at the sold out Power Plant IX held at the Salt Tasting Room on a very rainy Tuesday, January 24th.  Sustainability leaders sipped local beer and wine and noshed on a selection of delicious of vegetarian nibbles and fancy grilled cheese sandwiches.  Thank you to our trio of sustainability butterfly Connectors, Stina Brown, Beth Breisnes and Bernice Paul, for helping make strategic introductions for guests. Our five presenters Ben West, Myriam Laroche, Lisa Princic, Malcolm Shield and Amanda Pitre-Hayes each knocked it out of the park impressing the audience with their 3 minute and 20 second presentations.  And after the event was over a group of 26 Power Planters ventured over to the Irish Heather for a long table dinner.  A great article in Vancouver Is Awesome written by Hilary Henegar describes the event nicely with photos by Hilary Mandel, read it here.

Next event is Power Plant X at the Waldorf Hotel's Tiki Bar on February 21, 2012.  Tickets on sale now.
